چکیده

S. typhimurium is capable of entering into phagocytic and nonphagocytic cells and functiorting as an intracellular pathogen. During invasion of epithelial cells, S. typhimurium causes membrane rffiing and actin rearrangement as it enters. It thetx targets to a specialized vacuole where it replicates. Associated with replication is the ind.uction of a unique host filamentous structure. Isolation of S. typhimurium containing vacuoles has enabled us 1o address which host proteins are associated with the vavuolar membrane. Confocal microscopy of infected livers was used to examine the events associatetl with S. typhimurium infections in BaIb/C mice. htflamatiott, the Iocation of the bacteria, and bacterial interactions with host cells were examined in this low dose Salmonella infection model. Thi, t"chnology will aLlow us to address the role of individual virulence factors and their impact on the host during infection using a reletant model.. GENERATION OF A GENE CONSTRUCT TO SIPA GENE DELETION OF SALMONELLA TYPHIMURIUM

Background & Aims: Salmonella Typhimurium is a negative-gram, non-spore, free capsule, moving bacteria with Trish Perry flagella. Salmonella is the most common cause of food poisoning. The ability to enter and survive in host cells is the condition for pathogenic Salmonella species. Proteins of invasive Salmonella are transferred to the host cells by bacteria. This study was performed for gener...

The effect of short-time microwave exposures on Salmonella typhimurium inoculated onto chicken drumettes

Salmonella     species show different disease syndromes and host specificity, according to their antigenic profile. Salmonella enterica serovar typhimurium is one of the most frequently isolated serovar from foodborne outbreaks. Poultry meat has been identified as one of the principal foodborne sources of Salmonella. In this study, the effect of microwave treatment of chicken meat samples...

Detection of Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium from Avians Using Multiplex-PCR

Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium and S.enterica serovar Enteritidis are the most frequently isolated serovars from food-borne diseases throughout the world. According to their antigenic profiles, salmonella shows different disease syndromes and host specificities. It is necessary and important to discriminate salmonella serovars from each other in order to ensure that each pathogen and i...

Salmonella typhimurium invasion induces apoptosis in infected macrophages.

Invasive Salmonella typhimurium induces dramatic cytoskeletal changes on the membrane surface of mammalian epithelial cells and RAW264.7 macrophages as part of its entry mechanism. Noninvasive S. typhimurium strains are unable to induce this membrane ruffling. Invasive S. typhimurium strains invade RAW264.7 macrophages in 2 h with 7- to 10-fold higher levels than noninvasive strains. Invasive S...

Requirement of CDC42 for Salmonella-induced cytoskeletal and nuclear responses.

The bacterial pathogen Salmonella typhimurium triggers host cell signaling pathways that lead to cytoskeletal and nuclear responses required for pathogenesis. Here, the role of the small guanosine triphosphate (GTP)-binding protein CDC42Hs in these responses was examined. Expression of a dominant interfering mutant of CDC42 (CDC42HsN17) prevented S. typhimurium-induced cytoskeletal reorganizati...
